 Flotation machine also named as flotation cell is one of the necessary equipment for nonferrous, ferrous and other metal separation in concentrator. It also has good flotation effect for fluorite, talc and other stone materials, and is widely used in mineral processing, metallurgy, chemical industry and other fields. 1. What are the models of flotation machine?

Up to now, the development of flotation machine has a history of several decades, and various technologies and processes tend to be mature. On the one hand, the quality and performance of the equipment have reached the international level, with the characteristics of high efficiency, energy saving and environmental protection; on the other hand, the model is also very perfect, resulting in a series of BF, SF, XCF and KYK flotation machines.


1》 BF series flotation machines

BF series flotation machine is an improvement on SF model. It has the advantages of large suction capacity, low power consumption, light wear, good quality, no need of step configuration, and good self-priming air and pulp.


2》 SF, XCF, KYK series flotation machines

SF, XCF, KYK series flotation machine is a more traditional type of flotation machine. It is designed with automatic control device of pulp surface, which is more convenient and quick to operate and adjust. It can effectively realize the reasonable circulation of pulp, reduce coarse sand precipitation, and achieve high production efficiency.


2. How to choose the model of flotation machine?

Flotation machine is a kind of chemical beneficiation equipment commonly used in concentrator. How to choose the model of flotation machine? We will consider from the following aspects.

The selection of flotation machine type and specification is related to ore feeding properties (ore density, particle size, mud content, floatability, etc.), concentrator scale, series number, process structure, etc.


1》 According to the ore properties and the requirements of separation operation

The floatability, particle size composition, grade, pH value and density of ore are all factors affecting the selection of flotation machine. The better the floatability of useful minerals is, the worse the floatability of gangue minerals is, which indicates that the ore is easy to be selected. Therefore, the flotation machine with low aeration intensity, such as self suction mechanical stirring flotation machine, can be selected; if the floatability of useful minerals is not good, the flotation machine with high aeration intensity, such as aeration mechanical stirring flotation machine, should be selected. Generally, the particle size of ore particles is coarse, so the flotation machine with shallow bottom and high stirring intensity suitable for coarse-grained flotation, such as SF flotation machine, should be selected; generally, the particle size of ore particles is fine, so the flotation machine suitable for fine-grained flotation, such as flotation column, should be selected. When the grade of ore is low, it is suitable to use self suction mechanical stirring flotation machine or pneumatic mechanical stirring flotation machine; when the grade of ore is low, it is suitable to use flotation column with large enrichment. The pulp pH of different ores is different. When selecting flotation machine, the material of flotation machine should be required according to the specific pulp pH value.

For the feed with coarse particle size or high density, priority should be given to the suspension capacity of the flotation machine, that is, the circulation performance of pulp in the cell. Sometimes the following abnormal conditions are encountered: high mud content and sludge entering into the bubble, resulting in an increase in the concentration of the product in the tank, resulting in insufficient driving power and difficult start-up after shutdown. At this time, the flotation machine with shallow cell and strong stirring capacity should be selected first. In the case of high density and coarse particle size of products in the tank, the same is true. In general, all kinds of mechanical agitation flotation machines can meet the requirements of flotation particle size. Generally speaking, the amount of aeration of the flotation machine is adjustable, which can meet the different needs of rough selection and selective operation. The main concerns of the designer are the maximum air volume and the stability of the foam layer.

2》 According to the scale of concentrator

Large scale flotation machine has the advantages of saving power and floor space, reducing the number of automatic control measuring instruments and actuators, so it should be preferred. However, the number of flotation machines for each operation should be reasonably determined. Generally, there are no less than two cells for cleaning, and no less than 4-6 cells for roughing and scavenging. From this, the necessary single cell volume is calculated and the flotation machine specification is determined. Practice and research show that the flotation cost per ton of ore can be effectively reduced by using a larger type of flotation machine, so the larger type of flotation machine is preferred in large concentrators. For medium or small concentrators, medium or small size flotation machines are generally used. The specific specifications should be determined according to technical and economic analysis.

 

3》 According to the flotation operation condition

Roughing and scavenging operations are mainly aimed at improving the recovery rate of useful minerals. Therefore, the froth layer should be thinner. Generally, the self absorption mechanical stirring flotation machine with small charge and the inflatable and small pneumatic mechanical flotation machine are generally used. For selective operation, the main purpose is to improve the grade of useful minerals. Therefore, the froth layer should be thicker. Generally, the aeration mechanical stirring flotation machine or flotation column with larger charge is used.
